Authors Hotline - Where authors and their readers connect

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is The Author Hotline?

A: The Author Hotline is a unique way for authors and readers to connect directly. For authors (and illustrators and poets) it's a great opportunity to support their work in schools. It is an online bank of author profiles (including an image, biography, quick-questionnaire and book) that children can search through. Authors will be able to send the link to your personalised "profile page" to schools before their visit or they can simply add the link to their own site.

Q: Who is behind this?

A: The Author Hotline is the brain child of children's author and creative writing expert Antony Lishak. He has worked in conjunction with a company called "CW4K", or Creative Writing 4 Kids, who have developed websites that enable children to create and publish their own stories online.

Q: What is it going to cost?

A: Nothing - there really is such a thing as a free lunch! Authors, illustrators and poets will be able to create and update their profiles for free. Schools and children will be able to use the database in any way they wish to support literacy work, author study work or any other literature-based work at no cost.

Q: How do I get involved?

A: Authors illustrators and poets can register for The Author Hotline by following this link... Authors Register Here. Schools and children can gain access to the bank of profiles via the link on the homepage.
